The city of Lippstadt expressed solidarity with the Ukrainian people

       Friday, February 24, 2023, marks the anniversary of Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine. On the anniversary of Ukraine's war with Russia, the sister city of Lippstadt sent a signal of solidarity with the Ukrainian people and illuminated its historic town hall with the colors of the national flag of Ukraine on the last weekend.

       Also, on the main square of the sister city of Lippstadt (Germany), the Ukrainian national anthem was played by a girl who, like many other Ukrainian children, is forced to hide from the horrors of war in other countries.

      The mayor of the sister city, Arne Moritz, noted: "Lippstadt continues to support Ukraine. Over the past year, our ties with the people of Ukraine have become even closer - through the refugees who found refuge here in Lippstadt, and through our solidarity partnership with the Ukrainian city of Kalush. We will not forget and will not abandon our efforts to support Ukraine."

      The official page of the city council https://www.lippstadt.de/stadthaus/aktuelles/news/ also states that "the illumination of the historic town hall should not only be a reminder of the war, which has been going on for a year, but also a clear signal of solidarity and sympathy for all Ukrainians here and in their native country, as well as residents of Lippstadt with Ukrainian roots."

       The Mayor of Kalush Andriy Naida, on behalf of the Kalush territorial community, expresses his gratitude to the community of Lippstadt, Mr. Arne Moritz and other active residents of the community for supporting Ukraine and our community in this difficult time for us.

     We sincerely thank all residents of Lippstadt and Germany as a whole for helping the Ukrainians who are with you as refugees with everything they need. This is a true manifestation of humanity and solidarity with the Ukrainian people.
