Mining of ores for the production of potassium-magnesium fertilizers in the Kalush community

On April 28, as part of the Forum at the Carpathian Sea Democratic Week 2025, Mayor Andriy Naida had a wonderful opportunity to talk with Dmitry Nikulin, who represents the White Potassium company.
White Potassium is a professional team of international level that actively cooperates with Norway, Sweden and the United Kingdom. Mr. Dmitry reported that British companies, together with the K-Utec company, have completed a thorough review of our materials on the possibilities of ore mining for the production of potassium-magnesium fertilizers in the Kaluska community. This opens the way to the implementation of powerful and promising projects that are of great importance for the economic development of the community.
First of all, the project involves the creation of new jobs (up to 500) and the provision of high-quality sulfate and potassium fertilizers to Ukrainian farmers.
It is important to note that the White Potassium team already has successful experience - they completed the implementation of a large-scale project in Australia worth 700 million euros, which is currently operating effectively. And the K-Utec company has implemented more than 26 similar projects in the world.
A feature of the new stage is the desire to involve Ukrainian scientific institutions in the work, in particular the State Research and Design Institute of Basic Chemistry "Niokhim". Despite the difficult circumstances - the pandemic, the war - the processes continue and give hope that the extraction of ores for the production of potassium-magnesium fertilizers will still be implemented in the territory of Kalush.
The British side, which has already signed a 100-year cooperation agreement with Ukraine, expresses its readiness to invest in our region, understanding all the challenges facing the country in war conditions.
Mr. Dmytro Nikulin also noted that more detailed news is expected in the next 2-3 months regarding the further steps of the White Potassium team towards the extraction of ores for the production of potassium-magnesium fertilizers in the Kalush community. Negotiations with British investors have been successfully implemented, and the company already has a number of powerful decisions regarding the project.
